There are many organizations that help support those with diabetes, we support Juvenille Diabetes Research Foundation. They are helping raise funds to support the research that will find a cure for my diabetes. There are several kinds of research, one is the artificial pancreas project. This uses an insulin pump ( on my right leg) and a continuous glucose monitor ( on my belly) and uses a computer to regulate my blood sugar rather than having to think about diabetes all the time, calculating carbs and bolusing insulin and constantly correcting highs and lows. Researchers hope to have this available by the time I go to college, which would be great! Click here to join my team for walk and help us raise funds!
